Cream Cheese Chicken Breasts Recipe

Cream cheese chicken breasts are a great meal option for your homecooked dinner or lunches.  This dish combines tender and juicy chicken with a rich and flavourful cream cheese topping.  These chicken breasts are topped with a mixture of cream cheese and herbs such as thyme, basil, and garlic powder which add extra depth to the cream cheese topping.  The topping keeps the chicken moist while baking which creates a nice mild balance between the chicken and the smooth cream cheese.  This is best baked in the oven for added easiness to your dinner preparation!

Ingredients
  

  • 4 medium chicken breasts
  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp. basil
  • 1 tsp. thyme

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400℉/200℃/Gas Mark 6.
  • In a medium bowl, put the whole block of softened cream cheese. Put the garlic powder, basil, and thyme into the bowl and mix together. You can either use a silicone spatula or use a hand-held beater on medium speed.
  • Remove the large chicken breasts from the packaging and pat dry. Place them onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Take the spiced cream cheese topping and spread it generously over top of the chicken breasts.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes checking to make sure that it has reached the correct internal temperature.
  • Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
